May 7 Villar de Mazarife to Astorga 22 miles 54,324 steps

Hola! The news from afar. I will catch the blog up tomorrow in more detail. For now the news is we walked 22+ miles today and are alive to tell about it. It wasn't part of the plan but when we got to 10, our original destination, we looked at each other and realized we weren't ready to stop. Scary. Very much a challenge but now we are settled in a lovely hotel for two nights and I just had the Massage of my Life and CC 's in there now. Then dinner and a big rest day tomorrow before we climb the mountain. Then we'll be half way! Unbelievable. I have so many thoughts and feelings as we walk. And we meet so many folks. Conversations are fun and yet there is ample time to contemplate and for CC and me as well.
More tomorrow over coffee and/or vino!! That's when I think best!!
